- DOE Industrial Assessment Centers – Free assessments for eligible small- and medium-sized manufacturers. The Delaware and West Virginia centers regularly provide assessments to Maryland manufacturers.

- University of Maryland Manufacturing Assistance Program – Sustainability assessments, which include analysis of energy use
- Mid-Atlantic Clean Energy Application Center – For facilities interested in combined heat and power (CHP) and waste heat recovery

- Maryland Save Energy Now trainings – View previously held webinars and other trainings on manufacturing efficiency topics.
- U.S. DOE training – Both online and in-person training opportunities on various efficiency topics suitable for manufacturing facilities.
Tools
- U.S. DOE tools – U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced Manufacturing Office offers free software tools to help manufacturing facilities identify and analyze energy system savings opportunities. The tools include both plant-wide and system-specific applications.

- Better Plants Program – The U.S. DOE’s Better Buildings, Better Plants program engages participating companies to reduce energy intensity by 25% or more over ten years.
- Superior Energy Performance (SEP) Program – The SEP certification program provides facilities with a pathway for continuous energy efficiency improvements through ISO 50001 energy management system standard.
- Compressed Air Challenge – The Compressed Air Challenge website provides access to various analysis tools and other resources on compressed air systems.
- Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) – AEE offers many training programs on energy efficiency and energy management, in addition to professional certification programs.
- Baltimore AEE Chapter – The Baltimore AEE chapter offers energy managers in Maryland the opportunity to network with other energy managers, local energy service providers, and Maryland utility companies.
- ENERGY STAR for Industry – ENERGY STAR offers an overall strategy and approach to energy management, as well as technical resources for more than ten focus industries.
