Free Codes Seminars
The Maryland Energy Administration, in conjunction with the State of Maryland Codes Administration, offered a free, specially designed seminar discussing the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code and the ANSI/ASHRE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2007 Energy Standards for Buildings except Low-Rise Residential Buildings.
The presentation consisted of two all-day seminars. One all-day seminar presented energy codes for residential construction and a second seminar presented energy codes for commercial construction. All registered attendees were awarded a certificate and ICC and AIA continuing education units (CEUs) for each seminar attended. Other items which were provided to the attendees included a workbook, a code book (for the commercial seminar only) and all the necessary instructional handouts.

Commercial Codes Material
Commercial seminars occurred Dec. 2-Feb. 23. These seminars provided an overview of the core concepts of the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code as they apply to commercial buildings along with key aspects of ASHRE Standard 90.1-2007.
Residential Codes Material
Residential seminars occurred between Nov. 9 and Dec. 15. These seminars provided an overview of the core concepts of the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) as they apply to residential buildings.
